MADERA -  Madera Police closed off a section of Schnoor Avenue near Cleveland Avenue Friday night when a woman drover her car into a tree over the sidewalk.

Sergeant Tom Burns believes the woman was traveling approximately 40 miles an hour just past Bally's Fitness when she lost control of her Saturn Vue slamming into the tree just missing the brick wall that surrounds a housing subdivision.

The woman, who's identify was not released, was transported to Madera Community Hospital with minor injuries. She was traveling alone and no other vehicles were involved.

Madera Police do not feel alcohol played a factor in this accident.
