CLOVIS - The Clovis North Broncos held out over the Edison Tigers in a battle of two halves at Veteran's Memorial Stadium Friday night.

For the first half Christian Rossi and the Clovis North Broncos dominated the Tigers going into halftime 30 to 14. When the Broncos came out for the second half they quickly tacked on seven more points but then the tides turned and Edison started their domination of the second half scoring twenty unanswered points.

The game came down the last minutes while Edison was marching down the field to score their sixth touchdown of the game. This which would have given the Tigers the lead for the first time of the evening, but Bronco's Michael Mechikoff intercepted a pass on the 15 yard line and ran it back to the fifty.

However it wasn't over for Edison as Rossi turned over the ball before running the clock out giving the Tigers another chance with less than a minute in the game. A sack of Edison's Khari McGee and a fumble recovered by the Bronco's ended that chance. With just seconds left on the clock, Rossi was able to take a knee and advance to the Valley final next week against Central High School.

Rossi went 7 for 17 with 207 yards in Clovis North's 37-34 win over the Tigers. Bronco's Carson Guzman rushed for 126 yards while David Wells and Bo Olorunfunmi both rushed for over 90 yards each. Olorunfunmi had two out of Clovis North's six touchdowns.

The CIF Central Section's Division 1 game will kick off at 7:30pm next Friday night at Veteran's Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High School. It will be a rematch for the two teams who met earlier in the season. In that game Clovis North dominated Central 51-7.

Since that loss the Central Grizzlies has averaged 44.2 points per game and is on a five game winning streak. Last night they took down Liberty-Bakersfield 35.14 to advance to the finals.
