FRESNO  - Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter will be welcoming back three of the best pass catchers in school history at Saturday's game against Wyoming when Davante Adams, Bear Pascoe and Stephone Paige will serve as the honorary captains for the Bulldogs.

Since DeRuyter's hiring prior to the 2012 season, he has made an effort to reconnect with alumni and he introduced the honorary captain program as a way to welcome back the former Bulldogs who built the program.

Being an honorary captain gives the former Bulldogs a chance to address the squad on gameday, eat pre-game meal with the team, be in the locker room prior to kickoff to hear DeRuyter's pre-game speech and run out of the tunnel with the `Dogs.

Adams was a two-time All-American at Fresno State over the two previous seasons where he set 14 new Mountain West records and 11 in the Bulldog record book. He finished his career with 233 receptions for 3,030 yards and 38 touchdowns. He is now in his first NFL season after being drafted in the second round by the Green Bay Packers and has two touchdown receptions so far through seven games.

Pascoe, a tight end from 2005-08, was a two-time All-WAC selection for the Bulldogs and he caught 10 touchdown passes in his career. Pascoe is currently in his sixth NFL season, currently playing with the Atlanta Falcons and he caught a touchdown pass in Sunday's game against Detroit. He won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2012 and is one of nine former Bulldogs to win a Super Bowl.

Paige played wide receiver at Fresno State in 1981 and 1982. He once caught three touchdowns in a win over Pacific in 1982 and is one of 10 players in school history to catch three or more TD passes in a game. After his Bulldog career concluded in 1982, a season in which Paige helped lead the Bulldogs to an 11-1 record, he went on to play 11 seasons in the NFL, 10 of which were spent with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Saturday's game also marks the third-annual Football Family Food Drive. The Fresno State football coaches' wives and families are sponsoring the third annual Football Family Food Drive on Nov. 1 before the 'Dogs host Wyoming at Bulldog Stadium.

The coaches' families will be collecting non-perishable food items and accepting monetary donations at all entrances to Bulldog Stadium one hour prior to kick off between the Bulldogs and Cowboys. All proceeds benefit the Community Food Bank.

"All of our football families, our wives and children, really, really love living here in Fresno," said DeRuyter. "As a part of our respect and thanks for getting the chance to live in this community, we wanted to give back. We are going to do what we can to support the community and hopefully we'll get the Red Wave out there supporting it."

The football coaches' families hosted the drive at last season's sold-out New Mexico game on Nov. 23 and did so for the first time in 2012 for the Nov. 3 Hawai'i game. It is also something that the DeRuyter's and other football families have helped organize at other university's they have been a part of.

The Community Food Bank distributes food to those in need in Fresno, Madera and Kings Counties.

Fresno State's game against Wyoming is set to kick off at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are still available at the Bulldog's Ticket Office, by calling (559) 278-DOGS or going online to www.GoBulldogs.com.
