Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer and Superintendant Michael Hanson release Joint Statement on Arrest of Hoover High School Teacher

FRESNO – Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer and Fresno Unified School District Superintendant Michael Hanson announced the arrest of Hoover High School Teacher Megan Denman for having sex with a student.

On Monday, April 9th, Detectives from the Fresno Police Department arrested Hoover High School Teacher Megan Denman, 29 of Fresno for one count of PC 261.5.C (Sex with a minor 3+ years younger than suspect, a felony), and two counts of PC 288a(b)(1) (Oral Copulation with a person under 18, also a felony).

Man Arrested After Two County Pursuit Print E-mail

FRESNO COUNTY - Sheriff Margaret Mims today announced the arrest of a Riverdale man after leading deputies on a pursuit that traveled through southern Fresno and northern Kings Counties.  Arrested was 20 year old James Henry White Jr.

Yesterday, shortly after 11:30am, deputies responded to Fontes Farms near Riverdale regarding the theft of a Ford F-150 truck and fuel trailer.  Workers at the farm reported seeing the truck and trailer being driven away from the farm north on Polk Ave.  The owner of the farm contacted the Sheriff’s Office and then started searching the area for the vehicles.

Wanted Parolee Arrested After Pursuit Print E-mail

Fresno County - Sheriff Margaret Mims today announced the arrest of a transient after leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit through central Fresno.  Arrested was 36 year old John Xavier Hansson.

The incident occurred this past Saturday morning when deputies were advised to be on the lookout for a black, 2006 Chevy Trailblazer stolen earlier in the City of Fresno.  Minutes later, deputies were advised that police were pursuing the stolen vehicle.  The police pursuit was cancelled and deputies again started looking for the vehicle.

Suspect in Gun Battle Outside of School Arrested Print E-mail

STOCKTON – U.S. Marshal Albert Najera of the Eastern District of California announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested 20 year old Angelo Estrada in Stockton, California. Estrada was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon in Stockton.

On February 7th 2012, Stockton P.D. was dispatched to the area of Van Buren St. and Harding Way to investigate a report of a shooting outside two schools. A gun battle broke out across the street from the El Dorado Elementary School and the Stockton School for Adults, when one car pulled up to a parked SUV.

Former Madera County Judge Eric Wyatt Dies at Age 45 Print E-mail

MADERA - Former Madera County Judge Eric Wyatt passed away Saturday at the age of 45 after a three year battle with brain cancer. Judge Wyatt was born in Visalia and raised in Salinas with his younger brother Keith. He graduated from Salinas High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis.

He earned his law degree from Santa Clara University and began his law practice in the early 1990’s with the firm of Mortimer and Oakley. He would later become a partner in that firm before leaving to begin his career with the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.
