FRESNO - Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested and booked Juan Rocha Molina into the Fresno County Jail. The 31 year old Fresno man faces felony charges of attempted kidnapping and vehicle theft. Molina’s bail is set at $85,000.

Around 8:30 am on Monday, Molina approached the woman and her grandaughter outside their home. Molina displayed a keychain as a toy in an effort to lure the little girl to come with him. The woman intervened and ordered Molina to leave the property, which he did.

Shots Fired at Madera Police Following Traffic Stop Print E-mail

MADERA - The lesson that all police officers know proved true in Madera Sunday morning, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop. During a early morning stop of a new white Mazda SUV on the west side of Madera, one Madera police officer and his civilian ride-along passenger began a high speed pursuit of a suspect through a residential area that ended in gunfire and a disabled police vehicle.

Around 4:30am Sunday morning a police officer, who the department has yet to identify, was attempting to pull the suspect over at Howard Road and Mainberry Drive when the suspect's just took off at speeds of over 50 mph. The chase went through two stop signs before it entered the Venturi subdivision across Sunset Avenue.

Fresno County Sheriff’s SWAT Team Captures Armed Robbery Suspect Print E-mail

AUBERRY - At 2:30 pm on Tuesday, deputies assigned to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team arrested 26 year old Mark Cruz of Auberry. Deputies surrounded a home on the 35000 block of Auberry Mission Road and ordered Cruz to come out and give himself up. Cruz followed those commands and was taken into custody without incident.

Cruz will be booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges of armed robbery and carjacking. He is also currently on parole, so he will face a violation charge. On September 21, 2016, Cruz went to his mother’s home and while there he pointed a gun at a man who was visiting and robbed him of cash.

DUI Enforcement Operations Planned this Weekend in Fresno Print E-mail

FRESNO - Officers from the Fresno Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. DUI Saturation Patrols will deploy on Saturday, October 15, 2016 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests.

In California, this deadly crime led to 867 deaths and over 23,000 serious injuries in 2013 because someone failed to designate a sober driver. Nationally, the latest data shows over 10,000 were killed by an impaired driver. From 2013 through 2015, DUI collisions have claimed 26 lives and resulted in 273 injury crashes harming 395 of our friends and neighbors in Fresno.

Fresno Felon with Gun Now Off The Streets Print E-mail

FRESNO - On Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at about 9:07 PM Fresno Police Officers Ryan Stockdale and Michael Hernandez were in the area of Clark and McKenzie when they heard several gun shots very close to them. They looked to their east and saw a subject in dark clothes running.

They went to contact this person who shouted to the officers that several people had just been shooting a gun and were running north in the alley. They began to head north on Valeria and turned east on Grant. When they did, they saw a group of males running north through the alley. They began to follow in their car until two of the subjects turned and ran back. Officer Stockdale began to follow one subject who ran east and then into a car port.
