Detectives Arrest Hot Prowl Burglar who Stole Tens of Thousands Worth of Coins & Jewelry Print E-mail

RIVERDALE - Property Crimes detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have booked Paul Whited, 47, of Riverdale into the Fresno County Jail. Whited faces felony charges of burglary and misdemeanor charges related to drug possession. His bail has been set at $147,000.

Between August 8th and September 9th, property crimes detectives took reports of four different hot prowl burglaries occurring at homes in Riverdale. Locations included the 3700 block of W. Paloma Street, 4200 block of W. Mt. Whitney Avenue, 20000 block of S. Pendleton Street and 2600 W. Luna Drive.

Arrest of Sexual Battery 17 Years Old Suspect Print E-mail

FRESNO - On October 1, 2016, at approximately, 9:30 p.m. an adult female was grocery shopping at Winco Foods, 4488 W Shaw. As she walked down an aisle, she felt someone grab her buttocks. When the female victim looked up, she observed an African American male running away from her. The female reported the incident to management and left the store.
 
On October 2, 2016, the female victim reported the incident to the Fresno Police Department. The incident was forwarded to the Sexual Assault Unit for additional follow up. Detectives reviewed Winco Foods’ surveillance video and recognized the subject as a 17 year old juvenile that was involved in prior sexual battery incidents near and around the Fig Garden Loop area.

Suspect Steals Work Truck and is Chased Down by Employees Print E-mail

FRESNO - On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at 9:08 am, officers were dispatched to a call of a victim chasing his stolen Ford F450 truck that a suspect just stole from the street in the area of Wishon and Princeton Avenues in the city of Fresno.

The call indicated the victim was updating police dispatch as he was chasing the stolen truck in another vehicle. The suspect was trying to evade the victim in the neighborhood located in the northeast section of Maroa and Shields Avenues.

BB Gun Incident at Easterby School Print E-mail

FRESNO - On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at 12:08 PM, officers were dispatched to Easterby School in the city of Fresno, regarding two second graders that were shot at with a BB gun. Upon arrival, officers contacted two male second graders in the administration office of Easterby.

The second graders were walking on the south side of the campus, near the administration office, when a suspect on the south side of Tulare Street shot at them with a BB gun. One of the second graders saw the suspect remove the BB gun from his trouser pocket and point it at them. The suspect then fired the BB gun and struck the other second grader in the upper body.

Runaway Tractors Damage Thousands of Dollars Worth of Crops Print E-mail

FIREBAUGH - Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Ag Task Force are searching for the person(s) who stole two tractors and used them to destroy thousands of dollars in crops. The crimes are believed to have occurred between the hours of 5:00 pm on September 15 and 7:00 am on September 16.

Around 8:00 am on September 16, 2016, deputies responded to a farm located at Brannon and Nees Avenues in Firebaugh. A New Holland T6020 tractor was stolen from this location. The suspect placed the tractor into “creeper mode” and then jumped out of the cab. Creeper mode allows the tractor to crawl at a slow speed and is often utilized when towing trailers carrying workers who are harvesting crops.
