FRESNO – Reigning Mountain West player of the week Taylor Ward provided a game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the ninth to give Fresno State a 1-0 win in the Sunday series finale over No. 18 Texas A&M. With the win, the Bulldogs swept the three-game series over the nationally ranked Aggies from the SEC.

“These guys have to feel pretty good about themselves,” Fresno State head coach Mike Batesole said. “When you beat a team that is a perennial regional team, and a team likely to be in a super-regional this year, and maybe even make it to Omaha. That is a heck of a team we just beat over there.”

Bulldog Baseball Season Tickets On Sale Now Print E-mail

FRESNO - The Fresno State athletics department announced on Monday that Fresno State baseball season tickets are now on sale through the Bulldog Ticket Office. In addition, individual game sales, mini plans and group seating is available for purchase.

The Diamond 'Dogs will host 30 games at Beiden Field in 2014, 15 conference games as they move into their second season in the Mountain West, and 15 nonconference contests. The 'Dogs schedule promises to feature exciting action that includes visits from five 2013 NCAA Regional teams - Cal State Fullerton, New Mexico, San Diego State, Texas A&M and UC Santa Barbara. The nonconference schedule also pits Fresno State against the Big Ten and Pac-12 right here in Fresno.

Fresno State, DeRuyter Sign Letter of Intent on Five-Year Agreement Print E-mail

FRESNO - Fresno State announced Monday that it has reached an agreement with head football coach Tim DeRuyter with a letter of intent to extend his contract five years through the 2018 season.

Fresno State and DeRuyter were pleased to come to a preliminary, non-binding agreement regarding certain key terms. The letter serves as confirmation of the University's intent to enter into a comprehensive agreement to extend the employment agreements of Coach DeRuyter.

Fresno State's Davante Adams to Enter NFL Draft Print E-mail

FRESNO - Third-year sophomore wide receiver Davante Adams of the Fresno State football team has informed head coach Tim DeRuyter that he will forgo his two remaining seasons of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft.

"I felt that this was a good time for me to take the next step," said Adams, a two-time All-American and two-time All-Mountain West first-team selection. "I felt that I have done all that I can do and I felt like it was a good move to make going out on a good note because you never know returning and then maybe your stock can be dropped."

Bulldogs Fall 45-20 to USC in Las Vegas Bowl Print E-mail

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - USC scored five first-half touchdowns to open up a 29-point point lead and cruised to a 45-20 win over the 21st-ranked Fresno State Bulldogs at Sam Boyd Stadium in the 2013 Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl.

"Clearly early in the game, we didn't make enough plays to get into a rhythm," head coach Tim DeRuyter said. "We have a lot of respect for USC, they have a lot of good players and are really well coached. They came out very inspired today and you have to give coach [Clay] Helton credit."
