- Before I begin the story of Friday night’s loss, let me first apologize…I am sorry! I have always been…and will always be a true blooded Coyote fan. I, like most people I know, want our football program to return to the glory days of the 1980’s and 90’s…and other successful times of our long history.

For the first six weeks of the season my stories have been, for the most part, tempered with a high level of patience and, therefore, did not tend to expose the massive failings unfolding before our very eyes. For one reason, as most people know, my son and his teammates for the past seven years are currently seniors on this year’s Coyote Football Team. In addition, my nephew is also a high profile player on the team as well.

FRESNO - After finishing their non-league schedule with a convincing 27-0 victory at Skyline (Oakland) last week, it seemed as if the Madera High Coyotes had found their swagger again. The defense dominated the Skyline offense and the Coyote offense began to move the ball effectively, albeit with four turnovers.

However, this past Friday night at San Joaquin Memorial the same problems that have plagued the offense returned, only this time to a larger degree. While the defense continued its recent dominating trend, it was the offense (again) that ruined any opportunity for a victory. Seven fumbles….that’s right…seven fumbles ended any legitimate chance for a victory in the 35-21 loss to the Panthers of San Joaquin Memorial.
