Merced Man Arrested For Auto Theft & Weapons Possession Print

MERCED - Merced Police located an unoccupied stolen vehicle parked in the 3200 blk of Dublin Ave early Thursday morning. The 1999 Honda Civic had been reported stolen earlier in the day from an address in South Merced. Officer’s working in the North area set-up on the vehicle hoping to identify the driver.

Within several minutes an unidentified Asian male adult got into the vehicle and drove away. Officer Nelson along with Officer Bowen and Salyers made a felony car stop on E. Alexander & Sycamore Dr. The driver was taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 38 caliber revolver, a small amount of Marijuana and several stolen car stereos.

The driver was identified as Ricky Saelee, from Merced. Saelee is no stranger to Police as he has had numerous contacts with Merced Police. Saelee is on non-revocable parole and is a convicted felon. Saelee is also a documented and validated “LOC” Crip gang member.

Saelee was booked into Merced County Jail for Auto Theft, Felon in possession of a firearm, gang member in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
