Arrest of Sexual Battery 17 Years Old Suspect Print

FRESNO - On October 1, 2016, at approximately, 9:30 p.m. an adult female was grocery shopping at Winco Foods, 4488 W Shaw. As she walked down an aisle, she felt someone grab her buttocks. When the female victim looked up, she observed an African American male running away from her. The female reported the incident to management and left the store.
 
On October 2, 2016, the female victim reported the incident to the Fresno Police Department. The incident was forwarded to the Sexual Assault Unit for additional follow up. Detectives reviewed Winco Foods’ surveillance video and recognized the subject as a 17 year old juvenile that was involved in prior sexual battery incidents near and around the Fig Garden Loop area.

The juvenile was previously on misdemeanor probation for sexual battery. In addition, the juvenile was identified as being involved in a similar incident in August of this year. The case was submitted to the Fresno County District Attorney’s office and was pending review at the time of this incident.

An arrest warrant was obtained for the juvenile male on October 4, 2016. He was subsequently arrested at approximately 12:00 p.m. by sexual assault detectives.
 
Fresno Police Department Detectives worked closely with the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office and Juvenile Probation to bring this case to a resolution and ensure proper adjudication.
