Fresno County Sheriff’s SWAT Team Captures Armed Robbery Suspect Print

AUBERRY - At 2:30 pm on Tuesday, deputies assigned to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team arrested 26 year old Mark Cruz of Auberry. Deputies surrounded a home on the 35000 block of Auberry Mission Road and ordered Cruz to come out and give himself up. Cruz followed those commands and was taken into custody without incident.

Cruz will be booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges of armed robbery and carjacking. He is also currently on parole, so he will face a violation charge. On September 21, 2016, Cruz went to his mother’s home and while there he pointed a gun at a man who was visiting and robbed him of cash.

On October 1, 2016, Cruz went to his mother’s home and while there he fired rounds into the floor, pointed a gun at a woman who was visiting, demanded her car keys and then stole her car. The victim recovered her car the next day after it was found damaged and abandoned near the intersection of Comstock Ln. and Auberry Rd.
