Edward Gonzalez Arrested in Violent Carjacking Print

FRESNO - On November 16, 2016, just before 7pm the victim in this case was leaving her place of work, the Elm Dental Care building. She closed the building door and was walking toward her car when she was approached by a young Hispanic male who displayed a black handgun and demanded her car keys. The victim complied, and while handing him her keys the suspect violently snatched them from her hand. The armed male then jumped in her car and drove away.

On November 20, 2016, the California Highway Patrol observed the victims vehicle in Cathedral City California occupied by four males. A traffic stop was conducted and once the vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Fresno all occupants were detained.


Detectives Miguel Archan and Richard Blancas of the Fresno Police Department Robbery Unit traveled to Cathedral City to interview the occupants of the vehicle and one subject, Edward Gonzalez (18), was determined to be the subject who took the vehicle from the victim at gunpoint .

Gonzales was arrested for the crime of carjacking and transported back to Fresno.
