FRESNO - Friday evening the Fresno Police Department received multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired in the area of Tyler Avenue and Thesta Street in Central Fresno. The callers stated that a man was shooting a gun from a white Honda type vehicle. In addition, the subject shooting the gun crashed his vehicle into a parked car and then drove off, leaving the broken bumper to his own vehicle behind with the license plate still attached.

Officers from the Central Fresno Policing District responded and began checking the area for the vehicle. Within minutes, officers located the vehicle stopped in the 1200 block of N. Doon Way, which is a short distance away from where the shooting took place. Jesus Espinoza, a 25 year old Fresno resident, was found driving the vehicle.

In addition, a .32 caliber revolver was located on the driver side floor board of his vehicle. The revolver was found to have 4 spent shell casings loaded in the cylinder. The license plate and bumper left at the scene matched Espinoza’s vehicle. Espinoza was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm, altered serial number on a firearm, concealed firearm inside of a vehicle, and hit and run. Espinoza is an East Side Fresno Bulldog Gang Member.
