River Park 11's All Stars Lose Heartbreaker in Extra Innings at State Championship 4-3 Print

WATSONVILLE - There was no joy in Mudville last night as the undefeated season of the River Park Little League 11 year-old All Stat team came to and end in a 4-3 heart breaker in Watsonville, California.

The River Park 11's jumped out to an early lead against the Tri-City team from Rocklin, California. However River Park was unable to maintain their lead allowing Tri-City to knot them game twice in the third and fifth inning.

 

Then in extra innings Tri-City's Levi Bare went yard to put his team up one over River Park. In the bottom of the inning the boys from Fresno were unable to answer back ending their perfect season and sending them to an elimination game tonight.

If River Park wins tonight's game in the elimination bracket they will advance to the championship series on Friday and Saturday against Tri-City. River Park will have to beat Tri-City on both Friday and Saturday to win the state title.

In Fremont, California the River Park 12 year old all stars has faced their second loss of the season and thier first at the Division 2 Nothern California state championship. In just four innings the Petaluma Little League team racked up a 15-0 win against the Fresno boys.

Four homeruns from the Petaluma team and four errors by River Park sealed the game and sends River Park 12's to an elimination bracket game tonight. They will need to win that game before they can face Petaluma again on Friday.

To advance to the Western Regional River Park will have to beat Petaluma on both Friday and Saturday.
