Mary graduated from Madera Union High School in 1935 then later attended 4C's Business College in Fresno where she obtained a degree in court reporting. Serving under Judges Stanley Murray and Denver Peckinpah, she was the first woman court reporter for the counties of Madera and Fresno. Her office was located on the second floor of what is now known as the Court House Museum on Yosemite Avenue in Madera.

On January 19, 1941, Mary married her husband of 60 years, Emilio A. Pistoresi, founder of Pistoresi Chrysler Dodge Jeep. They had two children Michael and Chris.

Mary was first and foremost a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She happily dedicated her life to her family - they were her utmost priority and joy.

Mary was a member of the Madera Historical Society, Soroptimist Club of Madera, Alegria Guild, Sigma Theta Sorority, Madera Community Hospital League of Volunteers, Republican Women and the former St. Margaret's Guild. She was an avid bridge player for many years. She loved the theater and shared many wonderful trips with friends to attend stage plays, operas and philharmonic productions.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Emilio; and great-grandson, Nicholas.

She will be greatly missed by her family and the vast number of friends that dearly loved her. Survivors include her son, Michael and his wife, Renee; son, Chris and his wife, Pam; grandchildren, Joey; Nicole and her husband, Nick; Phillip and his wife, Melissa; and Keith; and great-grandson, Vincent.

Visitation will be held at Jay Chapel on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A private service will be conducted at Calvary Cemetery where Mary will be laid to rest with her husband, Emilio.
